About Idir na Cnoic

We are a family run farm which stretches back roughly 200 years on the current landholding. The land has always supported livestock including sheep, cattle and horses and today with our young family we ensure the rural values of protection and respect of both land and animals is carried through to the next generation so they can continue to be caretakers for years to come.

Our family have been farming the land in Carlow for the last 200 years. Recently we have purchased a small number of Valais Blacknose sheep, which are a rare breed native to the Alps in Switzerland. We also breed Texels and Rouge de l'Quest.

Is your farm open to hosting tours, workshops, or demonstrative events for the public related to your livestock or wool production?

Yes but only to a small number of participants.

Do you currently sell your wool commercially, or is it reserved for personal or local use?

I sell a small amount to crafters.
