About Crafts of Ireland

Set in south Co Cavan on a 6th generation family farm that has a history of fibre production dating back to the early 1800s when the family we involved in the growing and spinning of flax fibre. Today we celebrate this heritage by using the wool from our sheep and growing a small patch of flax.

Is there anything unique about your farm’s history, values, or methods of production that you’d like to share?

We are based on a 6th generation family farm and run a small flock of native Irish Roscommon sheep and Blue Faced Leicester sheep. We wash and dye the wool from both breeds to create our unique Irish wool needle felting kits and for use in our workshops.

Is there anything unique about your farm’s history, values, or methods of production that you’d like to share?

we offer various wool workshops to include visits to our sheep. Workshops include wool spinning, needle felting and other wool crafts.

Do you currently sell your wool commercially, or is it reserved for personal or local use?

We sell our wool commercially for needle felting and spinning.
