About Ferim Olann

A family farm in the west of Ireland. Working with wool from our sheep. We enjoy creating art with the wool. Natural dyeing, fibre art, washing, carding and spinning of the wool on the farm. We enjoying educating people on the joys of sheep and wool. We are nature friendly farmers.

The farm is located in the lovely parish of Corofin, Co.Galway. The sheep and lambs have fine green fields with ancient stone walls to roam contently. There is a lovely old farm house that is been renovated at the moment with the river Abbert flowing nicely nearby. The full farm encompasses 5 blocks in different parts of the Parish. Bullaun, Annagh, Ballinphil and Ardskebeg.

Community & Wool Products

Do you currently sell your wool commercially, or is it reserved for personal or local use?

We sell some wool and use some for ourselves.

Is your farm open to hosting tours, workshops, or demonstrative events for the public related to your livestock or wool production?

Upon request we host small groups to visit and interact with the sheep and lambs. We also display and teach the craft of carding spinning and wet felting using our sheep wool.

We enjoy farming with the needs of the stock and nature given upmost priority. We are part of the acres scheme which has sustainability and biodiversity as their main focus. We treasure the wild life on the farm and want to preserve it for future generations.

We also can provide a natural dyeing for wool and other fibres on the farm. I am currently near finishing a one year natural dyeing course with Apple Oak Fibre Works. We will be opening up a natural dye studio on the farm in the near future.
