Farm & History

this is our first year with the farm and we have mostly Scottish Blackface Sheep. Around 200 at the moment. We are in a beautiful area called the Nire Valley. We would be open to events in the future but currently are busy upgrading the farm. Our biggest priority is our animals' welfare. We are hoping to promote Scottish blackface wool in particular. And after a transition period we will be an organic farm so the wool would be certified.

I feel like we are fairly unique in that a large portion of our flock will never be sold for meat, they all have names and personalities and are very friendly. I believe the wool they produce should be better utilized. If not for the fibre arts for housing insulation.

Wool Production

Is your farm open to hosting tours, workshops, or demonstrative events for the public related to your livestock or wool production?

In the future I would be happy to hold events relating to sheep welfare and the wool industry and hand spinning/processing.

Do you currently sell your wool commercially, or is it reserved for personal or local use?

I have currently processed a small amount to knit with the aim of having a larger set up ready for after shearing in July. We will have far more than I can process.
